Falling In Love
I fall in love much too easily, I fall in love far too fast,
Swiftly my heart starts losing, by that time the die is long cast.
Age is no hurdle for lovers, beauty is oft quick defined,
I’m overcome with great feeling, on that I’m already resigned.
Logic fast goes out the window, and reason goes out of the door,
Inside me a fever is burning, I know just what love has in store.
The feeling I get is terrific, but to torture myself I’m too prone,
To love all of those who attract me, a condition I cannot condone.
The affair in the Garden of Eden, which happ- ened to Adam and Eve,
Developed the battle of sexes, some are true some intend to deceive.
The faces for ever allure me, each worth its weight in pure gold,
The changes are always apparent, as God tends to break every mould.
As a yokel I stared at my first love, stunned by her beautiful face,
Her image lies fast in my mem’ry, the profile, the figure, the grace.
I lost her to some other fellow, shyness caused love to take flight,
But first love is never forgotten, so I suffer this terrible plight.
Most of my loves never know me, out of reach they are often afar,
Fate has a plan to deceive me, making each one a long distant star.
Whenever cool eyes do make contact, my mind falls to pieces again,
The nearer we come close together, the better I know the terrain.
No one can define how it happens, occurring from deep in the heart,
Resulting in blind adoration, which lights a touch-paper from start.
And when all yearning is ended, and love flies alone out the door,
The feeling of being so lonely, is destiny’s curse that’s for sure.
Affliction is not bound by timing, love often runs more than a year,
But shorter on other occasions, to end without shedding a tear.
My weakness is seeking perfection, it appears in so many on sight,
But later examined in focus, it reflects in a far different light.
At night when awake I start thinking, of sharing my life once again,
No cure for the pain that I suffer, to follow the same old refrain,
I dream of a permanent loved one, to settle for all of my life,
Tho’ warned of the war of attrition, that ends up in marital strife.
Some claim I am not very honest, they say that my feelings aren’t true,
Love is far too tender to bracket, you can only love one and not two.
No month exists when I’m normal, love sends all my hormones awry,
The envy of people who know me, the gift’s more than money can buy.
I never presume love beforehand, or bend when I’m shown sympathy,
But endearment collapses resistance, when such care is only for me.
My heart has been stolen by legions, of lovers that make up mankind,
I believe that it’s infatuation, which is driving me out of my mind.
